How It Works
From uploading your first law to winning your first case — here's how Verdict works, step by step.
Step 1 — Build Your Legal Library
Create a collection
Go to Sources and create a new collection (e.g. “Canadian Criminal Law”). A collection is a folder that groups related laws together.
Upload your legislation
Find the law you need online (e.g. on a government website), download it as a PDF, and upload it to your collection. The AI reads and indexes the content so it can refer to it during debates.
Step 2 — Set Up Your Case
Choose your collection
Go to New case and choose the collection you just created. This tells the AI which laws apply to your case.
Fill In or Auto-Generate
Describe what you want to practise, or ask Verdict to choose the exercise details from your uploaded laws.
Step 3 — Debate & Get Scored
Argue Your Case
Enter the courtroom and present your arguments. The AI judge responds with source-grounded questions, concerns, and direction in real time.
Get Your Verdict
When you're ready, close the case. You'll receive a detailed scorecard covering legal accuracy, argument structure, persuasion, responsiveness, and fact usage. Your results are saved so you can track your progress over time.
Pro Tips
You can upload several PDFs into one collection — the AI searches all of them during a debate.
Verdict creates realistic exercises from your uploaded laws — ideal for quick practice.
Try both sides! Arguing as plaintiff and defendant on the same case doubles your learning.
